Pilates is a non-aerobic form of exercise suitable for absolutely anybody who wants to either stay fit, improve performance or recover from injury or restricted movement. It is also an excellent partner to any other fitness regime as it stabilises and supports the body’s structure. The Pilates method aims to strengthen the body from the spine outwards by restoring and building deep muscular infrastructure which supports the skeletal system. Through a wide variety of controlled exercises based on repeated postural and breathing techniques, muscles are retrained to move more efficiently. This improves strength, stamina and flexibility and encourages ease of movement for everyday activity.
