Linda has been keeping in touch with her students online, with regular updates and chats about what is going on in the art world, and hopes to be back in the New Year. In the meantime, the art group is getting together at the Club to brush up their skills. Do give us a call if you would like to join the class once Linda is back.
The art group are an eclectic group of people (full of characters!) all at different stages of their artistic journey. The programme covers different media – drawing, watercolour, acrylics, pastels and printing; different subject matter – such as landscapes, seascapes, still life, portraits, sea, sky and abstract: plus, different historical references including Impressionist, cubist and surrealist.
This is a fun and lively group, who are very supportive of each other. New members of any level, ability and age are very welcome, subject to class size restrictions.
Linda has been teaching art and mosaics & ceramics at The Avenue Club since she graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Public Art in 2002.
As well as The Avenue Club, she teaches ceramics at Richmond & Hillcroft Adult Community College and runs various art workshops at residential and sheltered housing schemes. She worked with the community of Butts Farm Estate in Hanworth to produce a variety of public artworks.
Her own art is usually based in ceramics. She is a member of The Treatment Rooms Collective, which creates bold artistic statements supporting communities and human rights across the world, as well as creating the mosaic house, mosaic truck and mosaic taxi in Chiswick.
