Kew Community Trust
Kew Community Trust is a completely independent secular charity, based in St. Luke’s in the Avenue, a building leased from the Church of England, which provides excellent facilities for all our activities, and is easily accessed by public transport.
The staff, supported by trustees, work in a number of ways to make a positive contribution to the lives of many people across the local area.
The Avenue Club
Our main activity is The Avenue Club, which operates on weekdays (usually between 10am and 3pm), providing a wide and interesting range of classes, activities and services for our 500+ members. Details of current classes can be found on the timetable click here.
If you have any enquiries or need advice please do get in touch. To speak to a member of The Avenue Club staff either call on 020 8948 8807 or email avenueclub@kewcommunitytrust.org.uk.
The Avenue Halls
We have a number of excellent value rooms and facilities available for hire, on a ‘one off’ or regular basis, through our ‘Avenue Halls’. Classes and activities are offered in these, run by independent providers, usually outside The Avenue Club hours. Local groups and societies, including the Community Choir, often use our facilities for meetings…and people of all ages and stages of their life choose our facilities as a venue for their special celebrations. Please click here to see our regular hirers for current information.

Community Activities & Social Events
Now COVID restrictions have been lifted we have again started to support a range of social events for the Kew community and other local charities, including the restart of ‘Meet in Kew’ in April – a monthly gathering for anyone who lives or works in Kew who enjoys meeting – or re-meeting – neighbours..

LATEST NEWS:
2022
The Government’s announcement on the relaxation of COVID related guidelines and measures means, not for the first (but hopefully the last) time in the past two years, we have reviewed what procedures we keep in place at the Centre. Government guidelines stress the need for personal responsibility and this is something all our staff, volunteers and Trustees continue to take very seriously as the health and safety of all those who use the Centre remains a high priority. We will (and this will be easier as the weather improves) ensure all our rooms are well ventilated and hand sanitisers remain available.
The relaxation of the COVID guidelines does give us the opportunity to further increase the social aspects of the Avenue Club and other activities. The Centre is a significant part of community life and, after the misery of lockdowns and other restrictions, we want people to increasingly start (or indeed restart) using our facilities not only for the wide range of activities and rooms we offer but also as a venue to meet old and new friends and start living life normally again. We are all aware of the toll the last two years have taken in making many of us feel more isolated and perhaps more lonely. We also know that some of our Members will feel nervous about social mixing after such a long period. Combined with the sensible safety steps we have kept in place, we would really like to see the Centre becoming increasingly vibrant. The change is already happening so please visit us and if you are already a Member, bring a friend with you. We are re-starting our popular Meet In Kew events in April and will send more details of social events in the near future. In addition, have a look at our timetable here.
Finally, we want to be able to offer as many activities as existing and future new Members would like. If you have any ideas, please let the Avenue Club staff know. We would also like to increase the number of volunteers we have – this does not have to be a major commitment and even a couple of occasional hours can be personally rewarding whilst also adding significantly to the life of the Community. If you are interested, then again please talk to the Avenue Club staff.
